On Sunday November 28th people of all faiths or none are invited to plant oak saplings in Haw Park Wood. With tools, instructions and supervision by Natural Environment Services, help from Tree Wardens and Friends of Haw Park Wood planting will take place between 11am and 3pm. Dewsbury Town Centre Lights Switch On, 5pm – In conjunction with Dewsbury Town Centre management. Festivities and entertainment in the town centre with a celebrity switch on followed by a carol concert in Dewsbury Minster.

11am – 3pm at Hanfia Institute (Huddersfield) – A chance for a guided tour,try out Arabic calligraphy,ask the Imaam questions, watch Muslims in prayer, hear recitation of the Quran and Islamic poetry as well as view the book stalls and gain insight into Islamic belief and culture.

Leeds Concord will be Celebrating Festivals on Thursday November 25th with displays from different faiths in the Arena of Leeds City Museum, 10am till 4pm. Find out about the many Festivals; taste traditional faith foods; try on clothes; test your knowledge with the faith quiz. Have a go at Hindu Temple Dancing 11am – 12noon (this is the only event where participants must book in advance – contact the secretary for details). Listen to or join in with festive music from the faiths between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

9am – 2pm at Oakwell Hall Country Park. Interfaith Kirklees (Schools) in partnership with Oakwell Hall are offering these experiences including a chance to explore the ‘circle of life’ using the five senses, story, key questions and short activities.
